There are two chemical classes of anabolic steroids. Despite the amount of media-bashing steroids have received over the years, it may surprise you to learn that steroids do have a number of legitimate medical uses. In males testicular cancer often requires the removal of the testes. After surgery, these men are often prescribed anabolic steroids to replace the testosterone that their bodies are no longer able to synthesize. This design of replacement therapy helps keep the men’s musculature as well as such secondary sex characteristics as body hair, deep tell, and sex drive.

Adolescent males with pituitary problems can also be treated with anabolic steroids when they approach the appropriate age for puberty. The steroids are usually given for four to six months to launch the growth spurt and development of secondary sex characteristics.

After determined kinds of surgery and cancer, most patients experience a loss of muscle tissue. Anabolic steroids can be customary in such cases, with spend and diet, to promote the regaining of lean muscle tissue.

Steroids effects, and anabolic steroid information There is research currently being conducted on anabolic steroids to glance if one day they may be outmoded as male oral contraceptive. Unfortunately the amount of negative press that steroids have received over the past number of years severely hampers this promising position of research. Steroids effects, and anabolic steroid information will choose your decision on which types of anabolic you would be most likely to utilize.

Once the muscle-building properties of steroids became known, it was not long before athletes began experimenting in an attempt to fetch bigger and stronger. At first consume was minute to weight lifters and bodybuilders, but it was not long before they made inroads into such other power sports as football, track and field, and power lifting.

Steroids effects and Anabolic Steroid information. Athletes are alleged to have been using steroids in the early 1930’s. In 1931 four Swedish Olympic athletes admitted to using the drug, Rejuven as a training succor. Rejuven was a German manufactured drug that contained the anabolic agent testosterone (derived from a natural source) . Athletes were not aware that they were taking an anabolic steroid at the time. There were no rules against anabolic steroid expend, because anabolic steroids as a class of drugs did not exist. The employ of Rejuven in sports appears to have been an isolated incident. Clinical studies associating these drugs with anabolic effects first led to the suggestion in 1939 that anabolic steroids had potential for improving athletic performance. It seemed Steroids effects, and anabolic steroid information was getting very accepted.

In 1954, Dr John Zeigler, was team physician to the American weightlifting team competing in Vienna. He was told that Soviet weightlifters were receiving Steroids to boost their performance. It was apparent to Ziegler that the Soviets were using steroids on their female athletes as well. Because steroids have masculinizing effects, it became difficult at times to identify an athlete’s gender.

The first steroid exercise among athletes in North America was probably in California. In 1958, successful bodybuilder, Bill Pearl (Mr. America, Mr. Universe), was told by Arthur Jones (inventor of the Nautilus utilize machines) about a fresh “chemical” that the Soviets were using. This excited his curiosity and he began to do research on his fill. At the University of California, a veterinarian informed Pearl about the anabolic steroid, Nilivar. This drug was dilapidated to promote strength and growth in cattle. Pearl took this drug for three months and gained 25 pounds of muscle mass. He also experienced a dramatic increase in strength. Steroids effects, and anabolic steroid information was beginning to cause some of the most dramatic changes of the decade.

In North America the first medically supervised studies of anabolic steroids and their effects on athletic performance, were carried out by Ziegler in California, in 1959. The drug ragged was Dianabol, and subjects reported astronomical gains in strength and size while using the steroid. Ziegler found that when he substituted a placebo (a medically non-active substance) for the drug, athletes reported the same results. He terminated the peer when he learned that some of the athletes were taking up to 20 times the recommended dosage.

Anabolic Steroids and Sex (Hormones)! – We have formed our perceptions of steroids based on what we’ve heard about them. Bodybuilders take them to get bigger muscles, athletes take them to perform amazing feats but the side effects are roid rage, right? That’s obviously not quite all the information on steroids.

Steroids are actually sex hormones. They control growth and allow the amazing athletic feats. Hormones spur on chemical changes necessary for energy, growth and development. Athletes want to reclaim their teenage energy and strength at an older age and so they turn to steroids. Steroids are not legal in most sports organizations.

There are many dangers to chronic steroid use such as liver and spleen diseases, and even liver failure and abdominal hemorrhaging. Liver tumors most benign but some malignant, meaning cancerous can also show up. Changes in blood lipids can have a serious impact on coronary artery disease.

Steroids just are not a good idea from a legal standpoint and health standpoint. But if you want to bulk up, or be better at your sport without using illegal steroids, then you need to look into steroid alternatives. There are legal steroid alternatives on the market. They’re even available without a prescription in the United States. The best steroid alternatives are plant derived such as Mesobolin. Mesobolin is derived from a plant and studies have shown that it works as good as synthetic steroids but without the scary side effects and health risks. I would recommend using a steroid alternative instead of risking my life with anabolic steroids.

The Difference Between Steroid Abuse and HRT – There’s no getting around the fact that our bodies age. For men, as we get closer to the middle age mark, natural testosterone production in the body begins to slow down by about one to two percent each year-though this can vary widely. Around age 50 or so, about one-half of men will experience what’s known as “andropause,” which is the result of declining levels of androgen in the body. To fight the symptoms of andropause many men turn to either steroids or hormone replacement therapy (HRT).

The symptoms of andropause will vary from one man to another but may include a decrease in energy (lethargy), diminished libido or less interest in sex, erectile dysfunction (ED), muscle weakness, difficulty sleeping, hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings or depression and more. Because of the symptoms’ similarity to what women experience in menopause, andropause is sometimes referred to as the “male menopause,” although in men the reproductive system does not shut down entirely as it does in women-it just slows down.

Steroids are no stranger to the fitness/bodybuilding world but today more and more “regular guys” are taking steroids in an effort to combat the effects of andropause and reduce its impact. While legal steroids do have a place and serve useful, medically-valid purposes, they are frequently abused. Part of this stems from their widespread availability in gyms, health clubs, online from Internet pharmacies, friends and more.

Besides being illegal without a prescription, steroids-when taken without proper medical supervision-are known to cause a variety of health problems. The short-term adverse physical effects of anabolic steroid abuse are fairly well known, but the effects of their long-term use are not well-studied.

The real problems arise when steroid users become steroid abusers. They buy their steroids at the gym or from a friend, self-administering them and regulating their intake themselves, rather than under the guidance of a trained medical professional. This is a recipe for disaster. When someone buys steroids off the black market the potential for dangerous repercussions is astronomical.

First of all, when buying steroids off the black market you never really know what you are going to get. The majority of steroids sold on the streets in the U.S. come from other countries where quality standards can be very lax at best. It’s also very common to take steroids prepared for animals rather than for humans because they are usually cheaper-but also potentially very dangerous. There is also a prevalence of fake or counterfeit steroids on the U.S. black market. These can not only be dangerous, but they can be deadly as well.

Without getting into the subject in detail-entire books have been written about it-suffice to say that the list of potential side effects of self-regulated/self-administered steroid therapy (abuse) is long. Mood swings, fluid retention, thinning or loss of hair, infections, testicular atrophy and the risk of blood-borne diseases are a few of the risks. However many medical professionals state that all drugs have side effects and risk should always be compared to the potential reward. In contrast to self-regulated/self-administered steroid abuse, Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a medically supervised regimen that seeks to duplicate the body’s natural testosterone production cycles. Administered properly, HRT can bring about the benefits of restoring testosterone to its previous level, without the significant side effects or safety hazards associated with self-regulated/self-administered steroid regimens or abuse.

HRT starts with a blood test and medical examination to determine testosterone levels and uncover any potential health risks. This is an important-and necessary–step in order to be certain that testosterone deficiency is indeed the root of the andropause symptoms and not diabetes, hypertension or the result of taking certain medications.

Is Congress Going to Lay the Groundwork to Include Education with the Steroid Legislation? – As of late steroid use in sports has been the topic of conversation by the media. From Jose Conseco appearing on Donnie Deustch’s “The Big Idea” which airs on CNBC to Congress looking to pass legislation to regulate steroid use in professional sports.

Is steroid use a problem in pro sports?

Well it depends on who you asked, but steroids weren’t developed in 2005, they have been around for quite some time. Most people associated bodybuilding with steroid use so football and baseball players that may have used them just flew under the radar.

As sports enthusiasts question records that were broken and bash those pro athletes that have been singled out for steroid use, the big problem isn’t the use of steroids by pro athletes but the use of steroids by the youth.

Of course kids that are playing baseball in the schoolyard look up to their role models and try to emulate them. So laws being passed to eliminate the use of steroids in pro sports may have an impact, but having a law isn’t enough. There has to be an educational process developed so that the youth really understands the dangers of steroid use.

Legislation without Education in this instance would be a big error.

When educators and politicians thought that speaking about drugs or sexually transmitted diseases might increase the use of drugs or sexual activity with the youth, they found out that kids knew more than they thought. So they have to take the same stance with steroids early on.

They have to assume that young athletes are aware of steroids and some perhaps use them. Then move forward accordingly and educate the youth on what they are and the harm that they may cause.

I am amazed that a pro athlete would come out via a book and admit their steroid use but does not take the responsibility of publicly denouncing steroid use with the youth and making public statements along those lines. Perhaps tainting the careers of other pro athletes was good enough but any pro athlete that has thousands if not millions of kids looking up to them have a responsibility to the public.

Maybe congress should work with MLB, the NFL, NHL and NBA and create PSA’s warning of the dangers of steroid use and begin a program in schools educating the youth on steroid use. Another good idea would be to develop a program to educate the parents as well.

We will see what develops in the coming months and hopefully legislators will keep in mind that they have to include education with legislation as it relates to steroids.

Is Steroid Therapy Right For You? – Steroid therapy is the use of steroid medications, also known as corticosteroids, to treat many types of autoimmune disease, including myasthenia gravis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis, and other disorders, such as asthma. Steroid medications include medications like prednisone and cortisone. Corticosteroids can be prescribed to be taken orally or in other ways, such as by inhalation.

According to Western medicine, steroid medications are medically necessary to treat many conditions and diseases. It is important not only to follow the recommendations of your medical professional regarding steroid use, if you have decided steroid therapy is right for you, but also to explore other medical options if you have second thoughts about steroid medications.

Is steroid therapy right for you?

Steroid medications have major effects on the metabolism of calcium and bone. Steroid therapy can result in severe bone loss, osteoporosis, and broken bones. High dosage of steroid medications can cause rapid bone loss, up to as much as 15 percent per year. If you are on steroids, you are more than twice as likely to have a spine fracture as compared to a person not taking steroids. Fracture risk increases as the daily doses of steroid medications increases. The major impact of steroid medication on bone is fractures (broken bones) that occur most commonly in the spine and ribs. There are different rates of bone loss among individuals on corticosteroids. Bone loss occurs most rapidly in the first six months after starting oral steroid medications. After 12 months of chronic steroid use, there is a slower loss of bone. However, not all patients who take steroid medications experience bone loss.

Other adverse side effects of steroid medications are elevation of blood pressure, weight gain, decreased resistance to infection, indigestion, thinning of skin, and potential development of cataracts and glaucoma.

Let me relate my own experience with steroid therapy.

I was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis several years ago. Myasthenia gravis is a chronic autoimmune neuromuscular disease characterized by varying degrees of weakness of the skeletal (voluntary) muscles of the body. The hallmark of the disease is muscle weakness, which increases during periods of activity and improves after periods of rest. Certain muscles, such as those that control eyes and eyelid movements, facial expression, talking, chewing and swallowing are often involved in this disorder. In addition, the muscles that control breathing, neck, and limb movements may also be affected.

Due to myasthenia gravis, I had developed ocular symptoms, such as ptosis (drooping of eyelids) and diplopia (double vision), and weak neck and limb muscles. Fortunately, I did not have weakness of the pharynx muscles, which could cause difficulty in chewing and swallowing, as well as slurred speech in many cases of myasthenia gravis.

I was prescribed steroid medications and had been on a steroid therapy for three years. In addition, I was also given medications to deal with bone loss and other side adverse effects associated with the use of steroids.

In my case, there was some improvement, but not significant enough to make me decide to continue the steroid therapy after three years of treatment. I had to balance the risks of steroids and the symptoms of myasthenia gravis.

My rude awakening came when I realized that my immune system, which was the cause of the disease in the first place, is not only an integrated network of cells that would protect me in times of an infection, but also a system with many regulatory mechanisms that, if uncontrolled, would become my enemy instead of my friend. More importantly, these steroids may control the symptoms of myasthenia gravis, but they may also impair my immune system with lasting effects on my overall health and wellness further down the road.

I recognized that the human body has a natural mechanism for self-healing, if given the appropriate environment. Accordingly, I took matters into my hands, and made a drastic decision to stop my steroid therapy without consulting my physician (Warning: I do not ask anyone to do the same.) I stopped the medication very slowly and gradually. Meanwhile, I did everything to improve my immune system through a thorough detoxification program, and a change of diet. I did not gain weight, my blood pressure became normal and, most important of all, my myasthenia gravis conditions did not deteriorate. Up to this day, I still have some double vision, which I have learned to cope with (I can still drive), but my other symptoms have disappeared. I have been off steroid therapy for several years already.

Hippocrates, the father of medicine, once said: “No man is a better physician than himself, who knows his own constitution.” No one can decide for you what is best for your health. A doctor can only give advice, but you are the one who makes the decision on whether steroid therapy is right for you.

Clean, Steroid-Free Muscle Building is the Only Way – In any profession, especially sports, people are competitive enough to be the healthiest in business. Competition in terms of health is good for the society. But there are some people who will adopt any means to be fit, and a few among them end up consuming steroids for building their body.

Yes, the consumption of steroids can indeed help you build muscles in a relatively short time period, but it has a very negative impact on your overall health in the long run. And this negative impact won’t certainly be restricted to your physical appearance. Taking steroids will land you in deep trouble and will cause you problems that you will hate to have, like:

· Increase in your aggression

· Lowering your sperm production

· Sterility is the long-term cause of steroids

So before resorting to steroids, think whether you are willing to take these risks for a short term gain. Also, the problems mentioned above are just like the tip of the iceberg; the real damages are pretty destructive. So consider the long run impact of steroids on your health prior to opting for them for the purpose of muscle building.

The side effects are not just limited to men. If women want to be like a man in their behavioral pattern and other aspects, including the looks, steroids is the best medicine.

In muscle building circles, you might often come across or hear about a sportsman being put on steroids for increased efficiency. But nowadays, using steroids for any health purpose, even for a sportsman, is prohibited in the U.S. Anabolic steroids are used in a controlled manner in some extreme cases, but unlawful use of it attracts penalty under law.

But the sad part is that some people have found an alternative chemical to anabolic steroids, which work in almost the same manner. This is not a good sign, and certainly a dangerous one. These alternatives are non-approved drugs and surely will jeopardize your health in the long run.

If you choose to muscle build, just do the work man! Be patience with your genes. Find a good whey/protein powder, mind your diet, and I guarantee you will win and be healthy. It is just not worth it.

For the ones selling these diet supplements, fooling people becomes an easy task. They lure people into falsely believing that these supplements will help them achieve overnight miracles, and there is no doubt that you will see fast results using these things, but its all about longevity.

Your family needs you at full force for as long a possible. In may opinion, doing steroids is a very selfish act. With the information that is out, we all know the downside effects, but some will choose the short term benefits and not long term health.

Do like I did, find a professional (steroid free) muscle building program, there are plenty on the web, follow the instructions not the advice of the guy in the corner at the gym. You will find that clean muscle building is good for both your body and your self-esteem. You will always feel good knowing you did it clean. Now let’s get pumped!

The Truth About Steroids – Anabolic steroid use has been in the news recently with baseball player Roger Clemens’s testimony before Congress in regard to his alleged use.

Clemens allegedly used Anabolic steroids which are illegal to use except for certain prescribed and specific medical conditions. They must also be used under a physician’s strict supervision. However, when taken without medical supervision, they can have dangerous and even deadly side effects; even once off the drug, the side effects can be permanent.

For example, in 1992, football player Lyle Alzado died of a cancerous brain tumor that may in part have been caused by his long-term anabolic steroid use. There are certain steroidal medications, such as cortisone or other corticosteroids, which are also carefully prescribed under a doctor’s supervision. The anabolic steroids athletes use are different than these which function as anti-inflammatories.

In sports, anabolic steroids are illegal in part because they artificially enhance performance instead of relying on the athlete’s own innate ability and physical fitness to bolster performance. This, of course, is unethical. The only way to win fairly and without cheating is to rely on your own abilities. You have to work hard to maintain peak physical fitness and performance, but it’s the only right way to win.

Oftentimes, athletes, and especially young athletes, overlook the dangers of taking steroids to get the short-term performance benefits steroids can give them. However, this is a dangerous and even deadly practice, with long-term health consequences.

Here’s what can happen when athletes or anyone else take anabolic steroids:

* High blood pressure (which in turn can cause stroke or heart attack)
* A reduction in “good” cholesterol
* Cancer
* Liver damage
* Aggressive behavior, even leading to violence
* Depression
* Acne
* Stunted growth in young people
* Hair loss
* “Reverse” gender characteristics’ appearance, such as breast growth in men and facial/body hair growth and breast reduction in women

Although enhancing your performance by natural, honest methods is not as quick and easy as steroid use, in the long run, it’s much healthier and ethical to do so.

First, there’s no substitute for regular exercise. Exercise produces a natural “high” of its own, because it releases “feel-good” hormones called endorphins. However, endorphins are a completely healthy high and only benefit you.

Second, a good diet is also important. Your body can’t function as it should without proper nutrition. You need to fuel your “engines” properly in order to work out effectively.

Third, if the person is still growing, they have to be careful as to how much they challenge themselves with weightlifting or other extremely strenuous sports. Of course, weightlifting is good when done in moderation so that you can build muscles, but young athletes especially have to be careful of injury that may in fact be permanent. Only perform extreme types of exercise such as weightlifting under a coach’s specific supervision.

Finally, there are some supplements you can take that appear to be beneficial and healthy. A good multivitamin supplement is a good start.

Remember that you have to win honestly and fairly even though the focus of many sports is “to win,”. If you don’t, it simply doesn’t count.

Steroids Information! – What Are They? Anabolic steroids, also known as , gear, juice, and anabolics, are drugs that were initially created to mimic the male hormone testosterone. They are used in medical settings to treat such wasting diseases as cancer and AIDS, and to treat endocrine problems such as delayed puberty in males. Bodybuilders and other athletes use them to promote muscle growth and decrease body fat percentages. As of 1990 the non medical use of these drugs is illegal.

Who uses them? The simple answer to this question is that everyone uses these drugs. By this we mean members from every segment of society is represented. It started with Olympic lifters in the 1950’s and spread to bodybuilders in the 1960’s. From then on just about any sport that involved short bursts of power was infiltrated by the drugs. By the 1970’s and 1980’s there was an explosion in anabolic usage by the general public. It has now reached the point where everyone from teens and college athletes to non-competitive weekend warriors are on the gear. The biggest explosion in usage is not for improving athletic performance but for looking better. As soon as a Hollywood hunk reads in a script that he needs to remove his shirt on screen, out comes the pills or needles. The vast majority of people who use steroids will never compete.

How Are They Used? Steroids are usually taken as orally as pills or injected with a needle into a muscle. Bodybuilders and other users routinely take dosages that are hundreds of times higher than the medically recommended dosages. Users often combine multiple anabolics into stacks, and alternate such usage with periods of abstinence called cycling. A typical stack will last 6 to 12 weeks and be followed by 2 to 4 weeks of non-usage. At least this is how the smart users do it. Now days many bodybuilders live on the edge by staying on high dosages of for years on end.

Do They Really Work? Despite the lack of medical evidence to “prove” the point, it’s safe to say that steroids do promote tremendous gains in muscle strength and size. The anti-steroid advocates who say otherwise obviously don’t spend much time hanging out in gyms. It’s one thing to work with rats in a lab, but another thing entirely to use human subjects. Anabolics allow users to train harder and recover much quicker from workouts. The biggest detriment to training naturally is overtraining. But being on the juice modifies a person’s system so that overtraining is almost impossible. Perhaps the best evidence to “prove” that steroids work is that since the late 1950’s there have been millions of people who have used these drugs. If they didn’t work the usage would have died out decades ago.

Are there health hazards? Although the side effects attributed the hormones have been exaggerated by the media, there are risks just the same. Most of the negative effects such as acne, oily skin, and increased blood pressure, are transitory and will disappear after the drugs are stopped. In women the effects of a deepened voice and masculinized genitalia may be permanent.

We should point out that the risk of side effects is related to the nature of drug usage. Users who take multiple drugs in high dosages for extended periods of time, are at greater risk for developing health problems than someone who does a one-drug, 6-week cycle. But thanks to modern nutritional science there is an alternative so that you don’t even need to try illegal products in the first place.

Alternatives? When the Anabolic Steroid Control Act became law in the early 1990’s, steroid usage became a lot more dangerous. Not only was the risk of side effects still present, but now users had to contend with being busted for their habit. Even though many prisons have well-equipped weight rooms, we strongly urge you to give steroids a pass. You have options. They are called steroid alternatives and have taken the bodybuilding world by storm. They are safe, legal, and highly effective at packing huge amounts of striated muscle on your body. You have to see them to believe them.

Despite the bulk of media-bashing steroids accept accustomed over the years, it may abruptness you to apprentice that steroids do accept a cardinal of accepted medical uses. In males testicular blight generally requires the abatement of the testes. After surgery, these men are generally assigned anabolic steroids to alter the testosterone that their bodies are no best able to synthesize. This anatomy of backup analysis helps bottle the men’s anchor as able-bodied as such accessory sex characteristics as anatomy hair, abysmal voice, and sex drive.

Adolescent males with pituitary problems can additionally be advised with anabolic steroids back they ability the adapted age for puberty. The steroids are usually accustomed for four to six months to admit the advance access and development of accessory sex characteristics.

After assertive kinds of anaplasty and cancer, best patients acquaintance a accident of beef tissue. Anabolic steroids can be acclimated in such cases, with exercise and diet, to advance the regaining of angular beef tissue.

Steroids effects, and anabolic steroid advice There is analysis currently actuality conducted on anabolic steroids to see if one day they may be acclimated as macho articulate contraceptive. Unfortunately the bulk of abrogating columnist that steroids accept accustomed over the accomplished cardinal of years acutely hampers this able breadth of research.

Steroids effects, and anabolic steroid advice will actuate your accommodation on which types of anabolic you would be best acceptable to use.

Once the muscle-building backdrop of steroids became known, it was not continued afore athletes began experimenting in an attack to get bigger and stronger. At aboriginal use was bound to weight lifters and bodybuilders, but it was not continued afore they fabricated appropriate into such added ability sports as football, clue and field, and ability lifting.

Steroids furnishings and Anabolic Steroid information. Athletes are declared to accept been application steroids in the aboriginal 1930’s. In 1931 four Swedish Olympic athletes accepted to application the drug, Rejuven as a training aid. Rejuven was a German bogus biologic that independent the anabolic abettor testosterone (derived from a accustomed source). Athletes were not acquainted that they were demography an anabolic steroid at the time. There were no rules adjoin anabolic steroid use, because anabolic steroids as a chic of drugs did not exist. The use of Rejuven in sports appears to accept been an abandoned incident. Clinical studies advertence these drugs with anabolic furnishings aboriginal led to the advancement in 1939 that anabolic steroids had abeyant for convalescent able-bodied performance. It seemed Steroids effects, and anabolic steroid advice was accepting actual popular.

In 1954, Dr John Zeigler, was aggregation physician to the American weightlifting aggregation aggressive in Vienna. He was told that Soviet weightlifters were accepting Steroids to addition their performance. It was credible to Ziegler that the Soviets were application steroids on their changeable athletes as well. Because steroids accept masculinizing effects, it became difficult at times to analyze an athlete’s gender.

The aboriginal steroid use amid athletes in North America was apparently in California. In 1958, acknowledged bodybuilder, Bill Pearl (Mr. America, Mr. Universe), was told by Arthur Jones (inventor of the Nautilus exercise machines) about a new “chemical” that the Soviets were using. This angry his concern and he began to do analysis on his own. At the University of California, a veterinarian abreast Pearl about the anabolic steroid, Nilivar. This biologic was acclimated to advance backbone and advance in cattle. Pearl took this biologic for three months and acquired 25 pounds of beef mass. He additionally accomplished a affecting access in strength. Steroids effects, and anabolic steroid advice was alpha to account some of the best affecting changes of the decade.

In North America the aboriginal medically supervised studies of anabolic steroids and their furnishings on able-bodied performance, were agitated out by Ziegler in California, in 1959. The biologic acclimated was Dianabol, and capacity appear amazing assets in backbone and admeasurement while application the steroid. Ziegler begin that back he commissioned a placebo (a medically non-active substance) for the drug, athletes appear the aforementioned results. He concluded the abstraction back he abstruse that some of the athletes were demography up to 20 times the recommended dosage.
